Despite the importance of historical memory in the construction of national and local identities, including a European one, it is not currently included in the school curricula. SEM@S is a Comenius project aimed to develop a cross-curricular methodology to make students aware of historical memory, at the same time they develop key competences (learning to learn, social and civic competences, digital competence) and develop transferable skills (such as critical thinking, team working, decision making and creativity). During 2012, organizations from Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland, Slovenia and United Kingdom will test the methodology in schools, approaching different topics related to their national or local history.
